Welcome to Adrian Public School!

Adrian’s strategic plan identified a vision in the fall of 2022 to develop creative problem-solvers who are prepared to face real life challenges in an ever-changing world.

We are constantly striving to meet this vision by aiming at three priorities to help us achieve this:

1. We want to increase student opportunities with a real world focus and application.

2. We strive for financial stability while facing slightly declining enrollment. We want to recruit and retain excellent staff, maintain and remodel aging facilities designed for learning, and again to afford worthy student opportunities.

3. We want to expand opportunities for social, emotional and cultural learning to create balanced individuals.

This is my fourth year as Superintendent of the Adrian Public Schools. I love what I get to do and my personal focus is to do as much good as I can, for as many people as I can, for as long as I can.

I am blessed to be married to Curt for 15 years. We have three children, Griffin (12), Chandler (9), and Sawyer (5). We farm raising crops and pigs outside of Ellsworth.  We enjoy playing, coaching, and watching our kids play sports and other activities. I enjoy spending time relaxing at a lake in the summer with my family on the weekends.

I graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa with a BA in Biology and Chemistry with a secondary education endorsement. I was a 7-12 science teacher, coach, bus driver, etc. at Ellsworth Public School for four years. While there, I earned a Master’s Degree in Education Leadership from the University of Sioux Falls. On my due date with my first son, I had an interview for my first job as a PK-8 principal and activities director for George-Little Rock. I stayed there from 2011-2019. During this time, we were blessed with two little girls and I earned my Education Specialists degree with a superintendency focus also from the Unviersity of Sioux Falls. I also was fortunate to experience more learning opportunities including early childhood programs including Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies Gold fidelity scorer, Foundations in Reading, AIW, Second Step Reading, Behavior Interventions, MTSS, and evaluator trainings including Fierce Conversations, Assessing Academic Rigor, and much more.  Following GLR, I went to work as the secondary principal for Hills-Beaver Creek for the school year 2019-2020.  Long time Adrian Superintendent Roger Graff then announced his official retirement and I knew I wanted to apply to be a Dragon. I have been a Dragon ever since! I have loved every step of my professional journey to date.  I am looking forward to the growth and challenges ahead!

Go Dragons!
